How it all began...
Val Noleto, Honorary Consul for Brazil in Queensland, was inspired to launch Brazil Week after attending the opening ceremony of German Week. Witnessing how cultural and business events can strengthen international connections motivated her to bring a similar celebration of Brazil to Australia.
Brazil Week was first launched in 2022, and its inaugural edition was graced by the attendance of Queensland’s Governor, the Brazilian Ambassador to Australia, the Consul General of Brazil in Australia, politicians at the state and city levels, business leaders, and community representatives. This participation underscored the importance of showcasing Brazil’s innovation and economic opportunities.
The initiative is promoted by the Australia Brazil Chamber of Commerce, a not-for-profit organization founded in Sydney in 1978. With directors and representatives across nearly every Australian state, as well as representatives based in Brazil, the Chamber’s mission is to foster economic ties and collaboration between Australia and Brazil.
A dedicated group of volunteers has been the driving force behind the project. Without their passion, commitment, and hard work, it would have been impossible to start and grow Brazil Week. Their enthusiasm and dedication remain vital to the event’s ongoing success.
Brazil Week aims to promote Brazil’s vibrant economy, innovative spirit, and positive stories. It provides a platform for high-level networking, fosters new partnerships, and builds lasting connections that benefit both nations.
Val Noleto invites everyone to join in celebrating Brazil—through business forums, activities, and opportunities to learn more about Brazil’s exciting prospects. Together, they aim to deepen ties and showcase the best of Brazil.
